Ski Hi Gym Opens to Indoor Exercise
Beginning Feb. 4, the Ski Hi gym and multi-purpose area will be open to the public for recreational use, including basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer and walking. The building will be open Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The cost is free, and it’s a great way to stay warm through the winter weather. February 8, 9, 29 and March 1
February Sees the Monte Marketplace Twice
There will be double the fun at the Monte Marketplace in February. The city-sponsored swap meet will be held twice in February. The regular marketplace will be held on Feb. 8 and 9. The event will be from 1 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 8 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 9. Vendors will be at the Ski-Hi Recreation Complex, selling crafts, yard sale items, baked goods, art and much more. Then, on Feb. 29 and March 1, there will be a second Monte Marketplace. On March 1, the event will be held in conjunction with Fast Friends, a non-profit group that supports families with sick children. The event will be open 1 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 29 and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 1. In addition to 50 vendor booths on March 1, also featured will be live music all day, food, a silent auction, door prizes and more. The Monte Marketplace is held the second weekend of each month from September to April at Ski Hi, 2345 Sherman Ave, in Monte Vista. There will not be a marketplace the second weekend in March due to the Crane Festival.
